Liturgy at 6pm

The Vatra will be held on the spacious grounds of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church, 7754 South Ave, Boardman, OH (just off of the Rt 224 intersection, 8/10 mile on right). Just down the road from WKBN AM 570 Clear Channel Radio Station. There will be lots of parking, large tent, covered pavilion, and handicapped accessible.

Genealogy material, "Old Country" village maps, and ethnic sales tables will allow those interested to know more about their Rusyn and Slovak heritage. Celebrate the Fall harvest season like our ancestors in the Carpathian Mountains.

Professional entertainment featuring ethnic music and dancing fills the day. Folk Musicians Dean Poloka, Bob Bartko, and Tom Katrenich and Company will play for audience listening, singing, dancing, and bonfire fun.

To our members and friends,

The Youngstown Chapter will host a Vatra on September 10, 2016. It will be held at on the grounds of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church on South Ave. Boardman, Ohio.

We warmly invite all C-RS members & friends to come and spend a day with us. We will have the best Rusyn food this side of the Atlantic and Rusyn music all day. We are in an excellent location for all members as we are right between Chicago and New York. Also right between Cleveland and Pittsburgh with easy access from the Ohio turnpike. We have many hotels within a half mile of the Vatra. So it will make a great weekend trip and for most a one tank trip. Since we are so close to Pittsburgh a Sunday trip to visit the Cultural center would round out a great Rusyn weekend.

Since we are on the church grounds you can also attend liturgy at 6 PM then have some pivo around the fire in the evening. We will have music and singing at the fire.

Please save the date and please come and meet our Rusyn members. For any other information on hotels, directions, etc. please do not hesitate to contact me at Jpb1589@prodigy.net or 330-544-0107
