Consider having the 8 mm movies converted to a digital format. They will take up almost no space and can be easily shared with all family members. If you don’t want to purchase the equipment to do it yourself, there are several companies that you can find online that do this. A DVD of old family movies might make the perfect holiday gift for family members.

Are there any other family members who would take them on.  It would be so much more meaningful that way.

A historical society may take them just for the historical value of the locations and the depiction of a certain time period but without explanations of what and who are on the videos they will lose some of their value.

I would hope for someone in the family.

My cousin is moving and cannot take the home movies she has stored for over 40 years. Its possible no one in the family will wish to have them. Will a historical society take them. What are the alternatives?
