Genealogy Committee Call for Volunteers
Dear Friends, The Carpatho-Rusyn Society is looking for volunteers to help build and support a new Genealogy Committee. Genealogy has long been one of the most valuable services we provide to individuals seeking to learn more about their Carpatho-Rusyn heritage. As interest continues to grow, we are reorganizing our efforts to better respond to inquiries, improve our resources, and expand the support we can offer to members and researchers. We are seeking volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. You do not need to be a genealogy expert to participate. In fact, we welcome individuals with different levels of experience and interests. Ideal volunteers should have: Potential activities may include: Genealogy experience is preferred but not required. However, an interest in learning genealogy research is vital. Studium Carpatho-Ruthenorum 2026
The Institute of Rusyn Language and Culture invites you to participate in the International Summer School of Rusyn Language and Culture, Studium Carpatho-Ruthenorum, which will take place at the University of Prešov in Prešov, Slovakia from June 7 to June 27, 2026. The International Summer School of Rusyn Language and Culture is intended for anyone who wishes to learn Rusyn and explore the history and culture of Rusyns of the Carpathians. The goal of the summer school is to develop communicative competence in the literary Rusyn and to broaden and deepen understanding and knowledge of the history, literature, culture, and ethnography of the region. The courses are conducted by professors, Slavists, and specialists in Carpatho-Rusyn studies from Slovakia, Ukraine, Canada, and the US. Applications for Studium Carpatho-Ruthenorum 2026 are accepted online no later than April 1, 2026.
