The Carpatho-Rusyn Society is pleased to announce the publication of its first Carpatho-Rusyn themed book for children. Life in a Traditional Carpatho-Rusyn Village teaches simple facts about our Carpatho-Rusyn heritage, with 60 pages full of pictures to color, puzzles to solve, and language to learn.

The book is aimed primarily at children 6 – 10 years old who are learning to read and write in English. Younger children will enjoy coloring the many appealing pictures, and older children will take pleasure in doing crosswords and learning fun facts about their heritage. Adults, too, will find satisfaction in learning facts and practicing basic Rusyn vocabulary, including numbers one to ten, days of the week, and colors of the rainbow.

This coloring / activity book is designed to engage the imaginations of people of all ages in learning about traditional life in the Carpathians, season by season. It is intended as a warm and gentle introduction to the history of our people. Ideally, it will inspire elders to share their memories and cultural knowledge with the youngsters in their midst. This book was produced by the C-RS Education Committee, Youth Education team.
