October 26th  is National Carpatho-Rusyn Day. On this day in 1918 representatives of twenty-one stateless peoples gathered in historic Independence Hall in Philadelphia and signed a Declaration of Common Aims. This was the first time in modern history that Carpatho-Rusyns were recognized as a distinct nationality by neighboring peoples and by the US government.

Menu: Delicious, old-fashioned pork and sauerkraut. Homemade soup, or salad, sauerkraut and bread dumplings. Coffee and homemade dessert included ($28). Bar, with excellent beers on tap, including Pilsner Urquell and Staropramen. Wine, wine coolers, and soft drinks.

Free gift: The Carpatho-Rusyn Society has a free gift for all who attend. Guests are invited.
