Eastern Pennsylvania

Join the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of C-RS at St. George Carpatho-Russian Church for a Pysanky Workshop, a cherished Eastern European tradition of decorating intricate  Easter eggs. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, this class offers a wonderful opportunity to learn the art of pysanky and connect with others.

Pacific Coast

Learn the beautiful art of pysanky, a folk art of the Carpatho-Rusyn people, with C-RS Pacific Coast leaders Andrea Kaufman and Leslie Lazar Thorn.  Try your hand at copying traditional designs or enjoy creating your own, as you learn about Carpatho-Rusyn history, culture, and traditions.

All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. All materials will be supplied.

Adults can register for $15 or $20, depending on what their budget allows. $10 or $15 per child. Cash payment will be accepted at the door.

Cleveland

Who: C-RS Cleveland
What: Pysanky Workshop, $15 per person

Where: Rockefeller Park Green House (750 E 88th St. Cleveland, OH) 

Brighten your spring with pysanky, the colorful Carpatho-Rusyn eggs decorated with traditional folk designs. Using the wax-resist method, the distinctive geometric, plant, animal, and symbolic motifs are inscribed with a stylus on beeswax-covered eggs, then dipped in dye. Workshop participants will learn about this ancient tradition and be stepped through the egg waxing and dyeing processes.

No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided. The workshop is limited to 15 students, ages 10+. Minors should be accompanied by adults.

Instructors Jacquelin Zubko-Cunha and Gloria Zubko, grew up making Pysanky. Together, they have years of experience writing pysanky and instructing others on this unique art form and ancient tradition.
