Christine’s Note: In this recurring column I’ll share information about Carpatho-Rusyn books. Some will be books you might already be familiar with, and some you might not. Either way, we hope you enjoy these recommendations.

This month’s book feature is “Mamina rusínska kuchyňa” by Oli Džupinková, Oľga Džupinková, and Peter Šuchtár.

“Mamina rusínska kuchyňa”, or ‘Mom’s Rusyn kitchen’, is as much a ‘coffee table book’ as it is a cookbook. The photography is stunning and the recipes are sure to make you hungry. The book is written in English, Rusyn, and Slovak. Recipes are grouped into these sections: Christmas, Easter, Summer in the Countryside, Autumn, Potato Squad, and Mushroom Picking. This book would make a great gift!
