The C-RS Virtual
"Let's Talk Rusyn Genealogy"
Chat and Learn Series presents:

What Your Ancestor's Obituary and Death Record Can Tell You About Them and Their Family

Originally presented Wednesday, January 25 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Eastern Time

Presented via Zoom

For a genealogist, an obituary or death record does much more than announce someone’s death. It can give you a lot of information about the person’s life and their family as well as hints to guide you to other places to research. In this session, we will walk through obituaries and death records to learn what you can discover about your ancestors.

Program taught by Dr. Dolores Fidishun, a retired library faculty member from Penn State University. She taught genealogy at Penn State and has taught workshops for a number of community groups and senior centers in Pennsylvania. She has been researching her Carpatho-Rusyn ancestors for over 50 years and is happy to say she has followed those lines back to the 1700s.
