Thank you all so much for the info. I was just a bit nervous to send money and wanted to make sure the company was real and that they actually provided results. I have hit a brick wall too as the documents are not digitized and no response from the church from the very southern tip of Poland. Fingers crossed I'll be able to find some information out! Thank you all again!

I hit a brick wall with my research with all 4 grandparents coming from small villages in now southeast Poland. I bit the bullet and used Eliza Karpinska from Genealogia Polonica  at eliza@genealogiapolonica.com or genealogiapolonica@gmail.com Ypu can check them out on Facebook. The fee you mentioned seems about what the companies charge. It is a tedious job sorting through thousands of pages with different handwriting and different names for same person , as I realized when I received my documents. If you can't do it your self the money is worth the information. I also got information that I did not know existed. Good Luck.

Matthew,    GenealogyTours.com is a legitimate business.  I used them three or four years ago  to research my family from a church in Southeast Poland.  (Records not online, at church only).  They produced a six page report with copies of church records with the information I was asking for (birth records of family that immigrated to US, plus marriage record of the parents.  The report provided information that put me back two more generations from what I knew.)  I think I paid about the same that you mentioned.  It covered travel expenses to church, research time, report writing and a donation to the church.  Whether that is the 'going rate' for research fees or not, I don't know.  I have no idea how to assess what a reasonable fee is.

Also, in pre-pandemic times GenealogyTours.com is one of two companies that the Polish Genealogy Society of America used to organize member tours of Poland.   I have no experience with that side of things.   If you go to the PGSA website ..   PGSA.org     and go to directory, then scroll down to R   Researchers/Guides   they have a list of a dozen or so researchers that members have used  (Of course they don't endorse anyone, the list is for information only.)    Hope this helps.

Yes, the researcher was Maxim. As I wrote, I was impressed with his work. I have asked around about the site you mentioned and no one familiar with it. That doesn't say its a good or bad source, just don't know.

Sharon:  Was the Ukraine genealogist Andriy DOROSH or Maxim AVERIN?  I have used Maxim in the past.  Considering another project, this time with Andriy.

Thanking you for asking. I am not familiar with these researchers. I will check with other genealogists. After spending years on my research and feeling I was hitting a brick wall did visit the archives in Ukraine and they didn't want to deal with me. I found a reliable genealogist in Uzhorod whose research is in Transcarpathia. His fees were reasonable and the information great. Got info on marriage of my grandparents; 2 aunts born in Europe: great uncles and aunts I didn't know existed along with so much more.

Hello! Just looking for some help.... has anyone used or heard of Genealogytour.com to find information on one's family?

You can fill out a form for free on a specific ancestor and they will go to said church, pull documents and scan them for you, in parts of Poland/Ukraine.  I was told by this website that they found a good amount of documents on the ancestor I am desperately trying to find info on, to no avail on my own. Of course there is the catch that it costs $300+  to give me these documents.

I've been doing a lot of research on my entire family and enjoy finding and doing the detective work, but I just can't find any documents on a particular side of my family that apparently isn't digitized yet, or I am just not looking correctly.

If anyone has any info or could help in any way about this website etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
